Frequently Asked Questions
Here you will find answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
At your first visit, we will spend an hour talking about your symptoms and how they are affecting you followed by a complete assessment to look at things like strength, flexibility, and core stability. We may assess for tight muscles, diastasis recti, pelvic floor muscle incoordination, and more depending on your symptoms. Follow up sessions will give us the time to address any areas we find at the evaluation.
No, we treat all genders. While many of our clients are women, pelvic floor dysfunction can affect men and non-binary individuals, too.
Sessions typically last 45–60 minutes. The frequency of visits depends on your individual treatment plan, but many clients begin with weekly sessions. Our clients come an average of 4-8 visits but length depends on completion of home exercises, symptoms, and treatment progress.
Yes! We accept most major insurance providers—feel free to contact us and we would be happy to verify your benefits.
In California, you do not need a physician's referral to start physical therapy; however, some insurance plans may require one for reimbursement. We’re happy to help you check your specific insurance requirements. After 45 calendar days from our initial session, we are required by state law to obtain a prescription for physical therapy from a physician.
We always prioritize your comfort. Some exercises or manual techniques may cause temporary discomfort, but we work closely with you to adjust as needed. Your feedback of how you feel both during and after our sessions is important for us to tailor your treatment plan to get you better in the quickest and least painful way.
